This week, Idaho drivers got a chance to catch their breath at the pumps.
According to the American Automobile Association, today’s average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the Gem State is $3.67, which is two cents less than a week ago but 21 cents more than a month ago.
The national average currently sits at $3.37 per gallon, which is four cents cheaper than a week ago and 14 cents less than a month ago.
Idaho currently ranks 9th in the country for most expensive fuel.
Matthew Conde with AAA-Idaho says “Winter storms have recently limited travel in some parts of the country, and the cost of crude oil has dropped a bit over the past week or so. Both have played a part in keeping the price of fill-ups from rising this week.” “Unfortunately, with spring on the horizon, this could be more of a temporary lull than a lasting trend.”
Boise has the state’s highest average gas price per gallon at $3.81, while Coeur d’Alene has the Idaho’s lowest average price at $3.32. Lewiston’s average price for a gallon of gas is currently $3.50.
