KOOSKIA, ID – A 17-year-old female who fell about 200 feet down an embankment and into a creek in Idaho County Tuesday night was rescued. According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a call requesting assistance for an injured person at around 11:15 p.m. about 1/4 mile from the Weir Creek Trailhead off of US 12.

Due to weather, rescue and medical helicopters were unable to respond.

Personnel on scene were able to get her back up to the trail and to the Kooskia Ambulance, which was staged at the Weir Trailhead. She was then transported to the hospital in Missoula.
