LEWISTON, ID – The Idaho Department of Fish and Game wants to hear from residents on proposed seasons for upcoming deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear, mountain lion, and wolf hunts.  Wednesday is the final day for comments which can be made on the agency’s website. There are three remaining public meetings in this region – tomorrow in Moscow; and Wednesday in St. Maries and Orofino.

Our biologists have posted videos with most proposals to learn more [about] each proposed change,” IDFG says. “All wildlife belong to the State of Idaho. Idaho Fish and Game is responsible for preserving, protecting and managing wildlife for the citizens of Idaho and to ensure continued supplies for hunting, fishing, and trapping.”

“Fish and Game uses public input to understand the public’s preferences, and balances those with scientifically gathered data to keep populations healthy. To learn more about how Fish and Game biologists gather data on these important and iconic animals and use that information to manage healthy, sustainable populations that provide excellent hunting opportunities visit IDFG’s “State of Deer and Elk” webpage.
