COTTONWOOD, ID – A 59-year-old man was found safe this morning after being reported as missing in the Cottonwood area. According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a call at around 11:00 p.m. last night.
“Idaho County deputies, Cottonwood Police Chief, and Idaho County Search and rescue responded to the area to search,” officials say. “Idaho County deputies deployed their drone and Idaho County Search and Rescue canines located a scent. This combination allowed rescuers to track and locate the subject around 8 AM this morning.”
The man seemed to be in fair condition and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for evaluation.
“We wish to thank all agencies involved for their dedication and expertise in locating this gentleman,” the Sheriff’s Office says.
