LEWISTON, ID – Helping Hands Rescue will be holding the group’s biggest fundraiser of the year tomorrow afternoon with its 7th Annual Share the Love Spaghetti Feed. The event takes place at the Salvation Army, 1220 21st Street in Lewiston. In addition to a spaghetti dinner, there will be a silent auction, bucket raffles, and a 50/50 game.

HHR is a volunteer-based non-profit organization working to assist, rescue, foster, and provide medical care and love for the unwanted, homeless, neglected, and abused animals in the Lewis-Clark Valley, according to its website. The group relies 100% on donations and fundraising events like Share the Love.

“Our organization works diligently to reduce the population of homeless/unwanted animals through promoting and supporting early spay/neuter.  It is our goal to find safe, permanent, and loving homes for the animals in our care.  We screen all adoption applications to ensure that our pets are a good fit with a potential adopter,” HHR says.

HHR provides spay/neuter coupons for those who can’t afford to alter their pets. They cover one-third of the costs.

In addition, volunteers conduct TNR (trap-neuter-return) projects throughout the region to spay and neuter feral cats. It is a humane approach to addressing feral cat colonies. If the cats and kittens can be rehomed, volunteers foster the animals until they can be adopted.

Tickets for tomorrow’s spaghetti feed are $10 each, $40 for a family of four, and kids under 10 eat free. You can come in and just go into the silent auction officials say.
