The Lewiston warming shelter could begin operation this week.
According to the Lewiston Tribune, officials with First Step 4 Life are waiting for cots to arrive at the shelter which will be capable of housing approximately 20 individuals.
The other holdup at the moment is finalizing a lease to open the military style tent that will be open from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. seven days a week on a privately-owned lot on Ninth Street at the base of the grade just south of the Weisgerber furniture store building.
The Lewiston City Council passed an ordinance in December giving the shelter has permission to be open through March 20.
