Idaho County Felony Arrests

GRANGEVILLE, ID – Idaho County Sheriff’s Deputies made three felony arrests for various charges over this past weekend.

On December 30, 2022, Idaho County deputies were assisting Idaho Probation and Parole on routine house checks in the Pollock, Idaho area. Joseph Case, age 35, of Pollock, Idaho was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and Agents Warrant. Bond was set at $10,000.

Case is reportedly the same individual who was seriously injured in a brief shootout with Nez Perce County law enforcement on January 15, 2016.

UPDATE: The investigation is continuing into an officer-involved shooting in the Lewiston Orchards at about 12:40 p.m. this afternoon. According to reports, a male suspect had allegedly been the subject of a pursuit in Lewiston. His vehicle was ultimately stopped near the Moneysaver.

The unidentified man exited his vehicle and fled on foot. Witnesses say several shots were exchanged in the 1300 block of Alder Avenue. A short time later, the man was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Law enforcement officials are on the scene of a reported shots fired call in the 1300 block of Alder Avenue. Drivers should avoid this area as the investigation continues.

The incident was reported at about 12:40 p.m. behind the Moneysaver.

According to a witness, one person was reportedly injured and they have been transported from the scene by ambulance. The alleged suspect is in custody.

“There was 5 rapid shots or so and then a pause and 5 or so more,” another witness states.

On December 30, 2022, Idaho County deputies were on routine patrol on Highway 95 near milepost 255, when they made a traffic stop. During their contact with the occupants of the vehicle, they determined the passenger had a felony warrant for his arrest. Shane Kozak, age 33, of Grangeville, Idaho was arrested on a felony warrant out of Kootenai County and misdemeanor providing false information to police officers. Bond was set at $1,000.

Steven Palmer, age 61, of Grangeville, Idaho was arrested felony possession of marijuana over 3 ounces and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
