LEWISTON, ID –  A 14-year-old Lewiston girl today pled guilty to Attempted First-Degree Murder with an extended sentence for use of a firearm for her role in the attempted murder of Victim GH. According to a press release from the Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office, on the night of February 27th, Chloe Marks and 15-year-old Triston Arnzen made a plan to kill Victim GH and his daughter in the 600 block of Bryden Drive in Lewiston.

“Mr. Arnzen allegedly took the Ruger 9mm pistol from the top of the fridge and gave it to Ms. Marks. She then went into the bedroom to find Victim GH watching a video. Ms. Marks aimed the pistol at the victim and shot one round into his neck. She then gave the gun to Mr. Arnzen who allegedly fired two more rounds at Victim GH before firing one round towards the second victim (GH’s daughter),” the press release states.

The two victims were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center where they were treated for injuries which police described at the time as “serious, possibly life-threatening.”

Sentencing for Marks is scheduled for February 23rd at 1:30 p.m. Arnzen is set for a status conference on January 19th. He previously pleaded not guilty.

“Chloe Marks has accepted her role in this horrible attempted homicide. Even though one defendant has accepted responsibility, the work on this case is not done. My office will be shifting our focus onto the second defendant in order to seek justice for these victims,” Prosecutor Justin Coleman says.
