Warriors Open League Play With Sweep of Walla Walla

Both Lewis-Clark State College basketball teams opened Cascade Conference play at home last (Tue) night, and both teams came away with victories.

Senior Sara Muehlhausen led the 17th ranked Warriors to a 70-61 over the Wolves. The 6’ 3” post put up 16 points as the women improved to 4-1 overall, and 1-0 in league. Freshman post Lindsey Wilson added 9 points and was a perfect 4-4 from the field in the win.

Meanwhile, true freshman and Colfax native John Lustig made his first collegiate start for the LC men, and he flourished, scoring a team-high 16 points in a 96-61 win over the Wolves. Sophomore Sam Stockton had an amazing stat line for the Warriors with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and no turnovers. The win snapped LC’s two-game losing streak and put them over .500 at 4-3 overall, and 1-0 in conference play.

Both teams will break for the Thanksgiving Holiday and return to conference play December 2nd and 3rd on the road in Washington at Northwest University in Kirkland and The Evergreen State College in Olympia.
