Three of armed robbery suspects in the Normal Hill area of Lewiston forced Lewis-Clark State College, Jenifer Middle School, the old Lewiston High campus and elementary schools Webster, Whitman and McSorley were locked down for nearly an hour this morning.
An alert from the college advised people to remain indoors and avoid the area between the campus and Clearwater Hall on Main Street in downtown Lewiston.
The alert noted the three suspects were Caucasian males wearing muted colors, and one wearing a black ski mask with flames.
The middle school and elementary lockdowns were lifted just after 9 a.m.
At 9:46 an updated alert from the college said the Lewiston Police Department had advised the school it could return to normal operations.
