Two people were rescued by good samaritans in Idaho County after being stranded for four hours Saturday.

According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a call at about 5:40 p.m. Saturday from the female passenger in the vehicle. The caller was unsure of her location, but the dispatcher was able to determine the coordinates and that the vehicle was stuck about a half mile from Canyon Junction on the 500 road. The caller stated the male driver of the vehicle had left on foot to find help, but hadn’t returned in about 2 hours.

Sheriff Doug Ulmer then reached out to Britzen McGuinness and Monty Ellis, who live close to the area, seeking their help in locating and assisting with the incident.

The two found both people together. The man had recently returned to the vehicle and was cold and dehydrated, but was uninjured.

McGuiness and Ellis then pulled the stranded vehicle back onto the roadway.
