Little to serve second term as Idaho Governor, Republicans dominate down ballot

Incumbent Idaho Governor Brad Little easily won re-election in the General Election with over 60 percent of the vote and 95.5 percent of counties reporting.

Former Idaho Speaker of the House, Republican Scott Bedke has been elected Lieutenant Governor; Republican Phil McGrane won the race for Secretary of State; Republican former Idaho Congressman Raul Labrador overcame an early deficit to defeat Tom Arkoosh for Idaho Attorney General; Republican Julie Ellsworth won her race for Idaho Treasurer; and Republican Debbie Critchfield won here race for Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction.

In races to represent Idaho in Washington D.C., all three Republican incumbents won their contests as Mike Crapo will once again serve in the United States Senate; and Russ Fulcher and Mike Simpson both won their contests for seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, a statewide measure to amend the Idaho Constitution to allow state lawmakers to call themselves back to Boise for Special Legislative sessions is narrowly leading with just a handful of counties remaining to be counted.
