Mariners squander four run lead, lose on walk-off homer

Yordan Alvarez hit a two-out walk-off 3-run homerun as the Houston Astros rallied to beat the Seattle Mariners 8-7 yesterday (Tue) in the first game of the American League Division series at Minute Maid Park.

Seattle led by four runs twice in the game, but the Astros scored 5 times in their final two at-bats to complete the comeback.

Julio Rodriguez and Ty France each drove in two runs and Eugenio Suarez homered for the M’s.

Robbie Ray, making his first appearance in relief took the loss, facing only Alvarez in the 9th.

Game two of the best-of-five series is tomorrow (Thur) afternoon in Houston. First pitch is set for 12:37 p.m. with live coverage in the LC Valley on 93.1 FM and 1350 AM KRLC and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.
