Mariners take both games of doubleheader with Tigers, Brown clutch again for A’s in win over Angels

Abraham Toro’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Seattle Mariners a walk-off 7-6 win over the Detroit Tigers yesterday (Tue) in the first game of a doubleheader at T-Mobile Park.

Catcher Luis Torrens got the unlikely win with an inning of relief as the M’s saved pitchers for the two-games. The righthander allowed a run on one hit in one inning of work.

In the second game, Abraham Toro homered and drove in 4 runs and Dylan Moore had three RBI as the Mariners beat the Tigers 9-6.

Justus Sheffield picked up his first win for Seattle this season. The lefthander allowed 5 runs on 7 hits with 4 strikeouts over 5 innings.

The Mariners and Tigers close out the regular season this (Wed) afternoon at T-Mobile Park. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. with live coverage in the LC Valley on 93.1 FM and 1350 AM KRLC and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.

 

And former Lewis-Clark State star Seth Brown was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Oakland as the A’s once again beat the Los Angeles
