An Asotin County jailer accused of stunning an inmate without cause, has entered a not guilty plea.
Sergeant Arthur Musser was charged with a Class B felony for allegedly stunning inmate Steven Eckhart in the chest with a Taser. He made his initial appearance in court Monday before Walla Walla County judge Brandon Johnson at the Asotin County Courthouse, where he was arraigned.
Musser was investigated by the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office and placed on leave April 5th. The incident took place May 30, 2021. Investigators determined the inmate hadn’t made any movements toward Musser before being struck with the stun gun. (Lewiston Tribune)
