Crews were able to quickly extinguish a house fire Saturday morning in the Lewiston Orchards.
The fire was reported at around 10:30 a.m. and when firefighter arrived on scene they observed smoke and flames coming from the back of the residence. The single occupant of the residence was able to escape the fire before crews arrived. Firefighters were able to control the blaze in about 10 minutes and crews stayed on scene for about 90 minutes to ensure there was no further spread and no hot spots.
Damage from the fire was estimated at $45,000.
