One person was hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash around 5:30 p.m. last (Thurs) night along the Reubens-Gifford Road.

Idaho State Police say a 2002 Chevy Tahoe, driven by a 20-year-old Lewiston man, was northbound near mile post 7 when the vehicle drove off the right shoulder and continued down an extreme embankment into a deep ditch. The vehicle overturned onto the roof, then cartwheeled landing on its tires.

A passerby discovered the crash and called 911.

The unidentified driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. He was transported to the hospital by ground ambulance with unspecified injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
