Cooler and wetter weather conditions have limited spread on the Williams Creek Fire burning near the Idaho County backcountry community of Orogrande on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest.
The lightning-caused blaze is still listed at just over 15,700 acres and is 31 percent contained.
Roads leading into the Orogrande area remain closed, however the Forest Service is considering lifting the closure if expected weather and fire behavior remain favorable.
More showers and high humidity are forecast for the fire area through the weekend.
