Air Quality alert for north central Idaho

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air quality alert for Nez Perce, Latah, Clearwater, Idaho and Lewis counties and the Nez Perce Reservation due high wildfire smoke.

All open burning in the area is prohibited during the air quality alert.

Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy for the next three days.

Air pollutants can cause breathing difficulties for children, the elderly, as well as people with respiratory problems.

Individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter smoke are advised to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity during the advisory.
