
The Four Corners Fire burning west of Lake Cascade grew by about 1,000 acres Monday, but firefighters were able to increase containment and strengthen fire line near Wilson Peak on an active fire day in warm, dry weather.
The Campbell Creek and French Creek areas remain in “GO” evacuation status. People in the Campbell Creek area were told on Saturday morning to leave immediately, and the area has been closed to all traffic.
The Valley County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday afternoon changed the evacuation status for the God’s Acres subdivision from “GO” to “SET.” Homeowners were allowed to return to the area, which has been reopened.
The fire has burned 12,078 acres and is 28% contained.
More than 800 personnel are assigned to the fire, including 22 crews, 10 helicopters, 39 engines, 4 dozers and 9 water tenders.
