Warrior volleyball team opens season with win

The Lewis-Clark State volleyball team opened its season with a road win over William Jessup yesterday (Thur) in Rocklin, California.

LC took three of the four games in the match. Scores were 18-25, 25-21, 25-17 and 25-21.

Sophomore outside hitter Grecia Ung Enriquez led the Warriors with 14 kills, senior outside hitter Cassidy Nelson added 11 and senior right-side hitter Lisi Langi chipped in 10. Freshman setter Esther Kailiponi had 20 assists, and sophomore Jennah Carpenter — a former Lewiston High School standout — added 18. Senior libero Kenzie Dean contributed 11 digs.

The season-opening road trip continues today (Fri) with two matches. The first at 9:30 this morning is against Pacific Union, and then a match with Simpson University this afternoon at 2 p.m. Both matches are being played in Angwin, California.
