
The Seattle Mariners extended their season-high winning streak to 10 games with a doubleheader sweep of the Nationals yesterday (Wed) in Washington, D.C.
Engenio Suarez hit a 3-run homer in the first game to lead the M’s to a 6-4 win. Chris Flexen won his fourth consecutive game on the mound for Seattle. The righthander allowed one run on 6 hits over 6 innings to improve to 6-8 on the season.
In game two: Jesse Winker homered and Adam Frazier had two hits and an RBI as the Mariners held off the Nationals 2-1. Reliever Tommy Milone picked up the win in relief. The lefty allowed no runs on 3 hits over 3 1/3 innings to even his record to 1-1.
Seattle finishes the first half of the season with a four-game series at Texas beginning tonight (Thur). First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. with live coverage in the LC Valley on 93.1 FM and 1350 AM KRLC and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM1300 KLER.
