The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Lapwai man on charges of aggravated domestic battery and failure to register as a sex offender following an incident in the Rapid River area south of Riggins earlier this week.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, 46-year-old Bryan Crowe was arrested Tuesday after an assault was reported near Rapid River. The 39-year-old female victim was reportedly found in and out of consciousness, and had been hit in the head several times with a fish club, an instrument that resembles a small baseball bat.

The victim was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in McCall, while Idaho County deputies searched the area and located Crowe, who was taken into custody.

During the investigation, the sheriff’s office learned Crowe had an active warrant from California for failure to register as a sex offender.
