Devers homers, Red Sox blank Mariners; Brown homers again for A’s

Rafael Devers’ two-run 8thh inning homerun was the difference as the Boston Red Sox shutout the Seattle Mariners 2-0 in the final game of their three-game series Sunday at T-Mobile Park.

Six Boston pitchers combined on the one-hitter.

Luis Torrens had the Mariner’s only hit in the loss.

Robbie Ray pitched well for Seattle but got a no-decision. The lefthander allowed no runs on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts over 7 innings.

The Mariners open a 3-game series at home tonight against Minnesota. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. with live coverage in the LC Valley on 93.1 FM and 1350 AM KRLC and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.

Meanwhile, former Lewis-Clark State star Seth Brown homered for the third time in the past 6 games for Oakland in a 6-3 loss to Cleveland Sunday. Brown now leads the A’s in homeruns with 8 and runs-batted-in with 31.
