Two people are dead following a head-on vehicle crash that occurred at 1pm Wednesday afternoon on State Highway 13 near milepost 23 south of Kooskia.
According to a news release from the Idaho State Police, an 83-year-old man from Stites was driving a white 2022 Dodge Ram pickup truck south on State Highway 13 when he attempted to pass in a no-passing zone. A 19-year-old woman from Stites was driving a gray 2012 Nissan Altima north on the same highway. The two vehicles collided head-on on a curve in the roadway and both were killed at the scene. The driver of the Dodge pickup truck was not wearing a seat belt.
The names of the two people killed weren’t released and the crash remains under investigation. State police were assisted by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Transportation Department, Kooskia Ambulance and Kooskia Fire Department. (Lewiston Tribune)
