High gas prices won’t deter travelers over Memorial Day Holiday

Despite record high gasoline prices the American Automobile Association predicts Memorial Day Holiday travel will be busy this year.

Matthew Conde with the Idaho Chapter of AAA says the majority of Americans are expected to fill up airports and roadways over the three-day holiday.

There will be no break for those who chose to travel by motor vehicle over the holiday as Idaho’s average price for regular is $4.62 per gallon, which is ten cents more than a week ago and 18 cents more than a month ago. Meanwhile, the national average sits at $4.60 per gallon, which is 12 cents more than a week ago and a whopping 48 cents more than a month ago.

The Gem State currently ranks 19th in the country for most expensive fuel.
