NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships set for Wednesday, May 25

LC State Track and Field is sending a record number of student-athletes to the nationals meet this week.

A total of 23 Warriors will compete for national titles and All-American honors at the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala., May 25-27. The Warrior men will send 11 representatives to Alabama, led by indoor 800m National Champion Clayton VanDyke. The senior will look to take the indoor title as the No. 2 seed. Cole Olsen will become the first, and possibly only, Warrior to compete at 14 national events.

And 12 different Warrior women will be in action in Gulf Shores in a number of events. Jennah Carpenter is the highest-seed from the women’s side with a No. 4 ranking in the high jump. The action starts on Wednesday with finals in the women’s pole vault and javelin, as well as the men’s 10,000m.
