Warriors advance to NAIA World Series

Senior Sam Linscott’s 2-run homerun put Lewis-Clark State in front and the 5th ranked Warriors got 5 shutout innings of 3-hit relief in a 6-3 win over the University of British Columbia in the winner-take-all championship game of the NAIA National Opening Round Baseball Tournament presented by Avista Thursday at Harris Field.

Senior Zach Threlfall added a homer and junior Pu’Ukani Desa had an RBI single in the win.

Dawson Day

Senior Dawson Day pitched two innings of one-hit relief to earn his 10th win of the season, and junior ace Trent Sellers picked up his second save of the year with a one-hit 9th inning.

LC improves to 54-5 on the season and will open play in the 65th Avista NAIA World Series next Friday, May 27th at Harris Field with a first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. against an opponent yet to be determined.
