Ty France hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Seattle Mariners to a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay and avoid being swept at home yesterday (Sun).

Abraham Toro also homered and was the only Mariner with more than one hit.

Rookie George Kirby pitched well in his big league debut – though he got a no-decision. The righthander allowed just four hits over 6 shutout innings with 7 strikeouts and no walks.

The win snapped Seattle’s 6 game losing streak.

The Mariners open a three-game interleague series at home tonight (Mon) with Philadelphia. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. with live coverage in the LC Valley on FM 93.1 and 1350 AM KRLC and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.
