LC State to hold three graduation ceremonies on May 13 at Harris Field

Lewis-Clark State College will award 823 degrees and certificates during its three commencement ceremonies on May 13 at the college’s Harris Field. Of the 715 graduating students, close to 500 are expected to walk.

The day will mark the second straight year LC State has had three ceremonies held in the outdoor venue. The college will follow the same schedule as a year ago with each ceremony consisting of one of LC State’s three schools: 9 a.m. – Career & Technical Education, which includes the Technical & Industrial and Business Technology & Service Divisions. At noon – the Liberal Arts & Sciences, which includes the Physical Life, Movement & Sport Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences Divisions. And at 3 p.m. graduates of the Professional Studies Department which includes the Business & Computer Science, Nursing & Health Sciences, and the Teacher Education & Mathematics Divisions.

The ceremonies will honor a number of individuals including retiring emeritus faculty members Scott Brainard, Erick Cummings, Michelle Doty, Tracy Flynn, Debbie Goodwin, Bill Hayne, Chris Norden, Liz Scarano, Jill Thomas-Jorgenson and Mary Lou Robinson.

The event is open to the general public and will also be streamed live online at lcsc.edu/graduation. Following each recessional, the LC State Alumni Association will hold a Senior Send Off in the area east of Harris Field.

If there is inclement weather, the ceremonies will be moved into the P1FCU Activity Center at the same times.
