LC State senior and Lewiston native Riley Way was awarded Monday with Cascade Conference Baseball Player of the Week honors.
Way put on a show over the weekend by helping the fifth-ranked Warriors’ sweep Bushnell University to wrap up the regular season. He was a perfect 4-for-4 on Saturday, then went 3-for-4 and 1-for-2 in Sunday’s doubleheader to hit .800 on the weekend. Way slugged a homerun and two doubles for a 1.300 slugging percentage and .833 on-base percentage. He did not strike out in his 12 plate appearances, knocked in four runs and scored six times. This is Way’s second conference weekly honor this season and fourth of his career.
Next up LC State hosts the Cascade Collegiate Conference Baseball Championship at Harris Field May 9th through the 11th. The Warriors are the top seed and will take on fourth-seeded Corban University this coming Monday at 4 p.m. (LC State News)
