Warriors complete sweep of Bushnell to end regular season

The 5th ranked Lewis-Clark State baseball team ended the regular season by completing a Cascade Conference sweep of Bushnell Sunday at Harris Field.

Lewiston senior Riley Way had three hits, including a two-run homerun and Genesee native Coy Stout drove in three in the first game of the doubleheader that saw the Warriors defeat the Beacons 11-3. Dawson Day improved to a perfect 8-0 on the mound as the lefthander allowed 2 runs on just one hit while striking out 11 over 5 innings.

In game two, Pu’Ukani De Sa went deep twice, including a walk-off grand slam homer that ended the contest due to the 10-run rule as LC won 16-6.

Seniors Zach Threlfall and Sam Linscott added back-to-back homers in the win.

Eric Chavarria picked up his 8th win of the season. The righthanded senior allowed one run on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts over 5 innings.

LC finishes the regular season with a record of 48-4.

The Warriors will have a few days off before hosting the 4-team Cascade Conference Championship Tournament at Harris Field May 9th – through 11th.
