Mariners top Marlins in series final

Julio Rodriguez had three hits, including a homerun ,and drove in 3 runs as the Seattle Mariners beat the Miami Marlins 7-3 yesterday (Sun) in Miami to avoid being swept.

Jesse Winker added 3 hits and 2 RBI, while J.P. Crawford hit his 4thh homer of the season for the Mariners.

On the mound, Logan Gilbert stayed unbeaten. The righthander allowed one run on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings to improve to 4-0 on the year.

Seattle opens a three-game American League West Division series tonight in Houston against the Astros. First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. Pacific Time with coverage in the LC Valley on 93.1 FM and 1350 AM KRLC and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.
