Bengal baseball team splits doubleheader with Lake City

The Lewiston High baseball team split an Inland Empire League doubleheader yesterday (Wed) at Church Field – falling in the fist game 9-5, and winning the second game 6-3.

Joe DuCoeur and Ethan Taylor combined for six of Lake City’s 13 hits in the opener. Cruz Hepburn and Chris Ricard combined for four of Lewiston’s six hits in game one.

The Bengals jumped out to a 5 run lead early in game two behind pitcher Chris Ricard.

Offensively, Kyson Barden had three hits, including two doubles and Zach Massey added two hits in the win.

With the split, the Bengals are now 12-4 overall and 7-3 in league play.

Lewiston travels to Sandpoint Saturday for a doubleheader with the Bulldogs.
