Idaho Boys State Tourneys get underway

Five local high school boys basketball teams open state tournament play today (Thurs) in southwest Idaho.

Kendrick and Timberline will compete in the Idaho State 1-A Division II tournament at Caldwell High School. The #6 seed Tigers will open up today at 4 p.m. Pacific Time against #3 seed Rockland, while the #7 seed Timberline will face #2 seed Carey this evening at 6 p.m. Pacific. Spartan fans can hear the game live on KLER-FM 103.3.

The top-seed and undefeated Lapwai Wildcats and the #2 seed Kamiah Kubs begin play today in the Idaho 1-A Division I tournament at Vallivue High also in Caldwell. Lapwai faces #8 seed Lighthouse at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, while Kamiah squares-off with #7 seed Liberty Charter tonight at 6 p.m. Pacific.

In the Idaho State 4-A tournament at Rocky Mountain High in Meridian, Moscow is the #6 seed and will open against #3 seed Jerome this afternoon at 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
