Masks no longer required at University of Idaho

With the number of coronavirus cases dwindling, the University of Idaho is no longer requiring students, faculty, staff or visitors to wear masks at it’s north Idaho campuses.

President Scott Green says the move aligns with new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines released last week. While the requirement is no longer in effect, faculty will still have the option of requiring facial coverings in their classrooms and offices.

Officials say both Gritman Medical Center in Moscow and the Public Health – Idaho North Central District supported the move as case numbers continue to decline.

Additionally, free rapid COVID-19 tests are still available to students and employees each weekday from noon to 2 p.m. at the east entrance of the Student Recreation Center with a Vandal ID. The university is also facilitating vaccinations on its Moscow campus and is continuing through March 11th to offer incentives for students who submit proof of vaccination.  (Lewiston Tribune)
