Two Lewiston teenagers made their initial court appearances Monday where they both face attempted first-degree murder charges.

The Lewiston Tribune reports 14 year-old Tristan Arnzen faces two charges of attempted first-degree murder, while 14 year-old Chloe Marks is facing a single charge of attempted first-degree murder. Both have been charged as adults.

According to court documents, officers responding to a report of shots fired around 5:30 p.m. Sunday found two people with gunshot wounds outside apartments located on the 600 block of Bryden Drive in the Lewiston Orchards. The two victims have been identified as George Hamblin Jr., who is Arnzen’s stepfather, and 11-year-old Macayla Hamblin, who is Arnzen’s stepsister.

The two teens were located shortly after the incident and allegedly told authorities they had planned to shoot George Hamblin after he refused to allow them to go to a park.

According to court records, Marks shot George Hamblin with a 9mm pistol before handing the gun to Arnzen who shot the man an additional two or three times.

Hamblin’s daughter was shot twice as she tried to escape.

A police report said George Hamblin was shot in the neck, jaw and torso, and Macayla Hamblin had two bullet wounds in her legs. Both were being treated at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where there conditions have not been released.

Bond was set at $500,000 each and both teens will be incarcerated at the Juvenile Detention Center. A preliminary hearing for each of them is scheduled for March 9th.  (Lewiston Tribune)
