A Lewiston woman has been charged with felony vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence for allegedly causing a fatal Normal Hill crash last year.
32-year-old Jayne Carr was at the wheel of a 2007 Pontiac G6 westbound on Ninth Avenue on the morning of Nov. 2nd. The speed limit on Ninth Avenue is 25 mph and Lewiston Police say Carr was traveling at over 95 miles per hour. Carr allegedly failed to yield at the stop sign at Eighth Street and struck a northbound 2015 Honda Civic driven by 60-year-old Peck resident Linda Dupuis, who died in the violent collision.
Carr was seriously injured in the crash and blood samples taken while she was hospitalized found methamphetamine in her system at the time of the crash.
Felony vehicular manslaughter carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
A preliminary hearing has been set for January 26th.
