Washington Governor Jay Inslee gave his State of the State address at noon today, in which he encouraged action on the part of the legislature in a shorter 60-day session.

Governor Inslee plans to tackle homelessness with rapid supportive housing and by removing barriers to middle housing in cities, like duplexes and townhomes. Inslee made it clear that homelessness and economic disparity are generational and racial issues.

Inslee also proposed investing $900 million in education in the state, to help students recover from learning lost during the ongoing pandemic.

Inslee also touched on policies dealing with climate change and protecting democracy, among other issues in the roughly 30-minute speech. View the address in its entirety below.
