Bengals sweep Bears at ICCU Arena

A 20 point third quarter allowed the Lewiston High girl’s basketball team to overcome a halftime deficit and beat Moscow 40-33 last night at the Idaho Central Credit Union Arena on the University of Idaho campus.

Katy Wessels led the Bengals with 11 points and Emily Collins put up 9 as Lewiston evened its record to 8-8. The Bears fell to 3-12.

Meanwhile, LHS boys shook off a slow start on their way to a tight 53-48 win over Moscow.

Jace McKarcher led the Bengals with 13 points and Braydon Forsman added 9 as Lewiston improved its record to 11-1 on the year. The Bears fell to 6-6 overall.

Both Lewiston teams return to Inland Empire League games with three road trips beginning Thursday at Lake City in Coeur d’Alene.
