Masks will continue to be required at the University of Idaho as the spring semester gets underway this month.
School officials say the decision was made in light of the recent surge in coronavirus cases due to the omicron variant nationwide and its expected arrival on the Palouse.
The University will work with local public health officials and medical facilities to monitor the number of virus cases.
The school plans to evaluate the mask requirement on a week to week basis through the spring semester.
