An official low of -1 Saturday in Lewiston marked the 5th lowest temperature ever recorded for New Year’s Day.
According to the National Weather Service, the coldest Jan. 1st on record was minus 6 degrees in 1979.
While temperatures are expected to gradually warm up this week, more snow and rain are forecast through Thursday region-wide. (Lewiston Tribune)
