The Arizona Bowl has been canceled after Boise State pulled out and shut down all team activities due to COVID-19 issues within the program.

The Broncos were scheduled to play Central Michigan at Arizona Stadium on Friday but instead joined the ranks of several other college sports programs that have been hit with coronavirus issues coming out of the Christmas break.

It becomes the fourth bowl canceled this season after the Hawaii, Fenway and Military bowls.

Boise State’s loss is Washington State’s gain.

With the cancellation, Central Michigan will now play Wazzu in Friday’s Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas.

The Cougar’s original opponent, Miami, was forced to withdraw from the game also due to COVID-19 infections within the Hurricane’s program.
