The search effort for a missing Colville, Washington man in the Craig Mountain area south of Lewiston has been called off.

Law enforcement agencies along with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game had been looking for 29-year-old Allan Sloan since December 7th in the Wapshilla Ridge area.

Sloan’s pickup was discovered stuck in snow December 13th, but there has been no sign of him.

Searchers have also checked all the shelters and cabins in the area toward Eagle Creek, and the Snake River by boat. Deep snow and poor weather conditions have hampered efforts and contributed to the decision to stop searching.

Sloan is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 180 pounds with a medium build, dark, medium-length hair and a short beard. Anyone who may have seen him is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (208) 799-3131.
