Washington Governor Jay Inslee has announced his climate proposals for the upcoming 2022 legislative session to bolster the state’s leadership in clean energy and economic growth.
The governor put forward a $626 million investment in a climate strategy aimed at decarbonizing the building sector; successfully implementing the Climate Commitment Act; investing more in clean transportation; and building the clean energy future in Washington.
Inslee says the state has made great progress, but it isn’t enough and more must be done. He added that now is the time to act boldly and quickly — to protect the planet and to grow Washington’s economy with clean energy jobs.
