Warrior basketball teams open conference play with road wins

Maddie Holm had 17 points and Sara Muehlhausen had a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds as the Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball team downed Walla Walla University 61 – 50 in the Cascade Conference opener for both teams in College Place, Washington last night.

With the win the Warriors improve to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Up next, LC travels to California for a pair of non-conference games against William Jessup on Friday and Pacific Union Saturday.

Meanwhile, the 19th ranked Warrior men remained undefeated with a 95-73 win over the Wolves.

Graduate transfer Kevin Baker put up a career-high 32 points and senior forward Al Sommerfield added 14 as LC improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Cascade Conference play.

The Warrior men travel to Salem, Oregon for two games this weekend. On Friday, LC will take on Portland Bible College before facing Ottawa of Arizona Saturday.
