The Lewiston City Council will decide the start date of the new mayor-council government during it’s meeting tonight (Mon).
The deadline for the change is Jan. 16th.
The date decided will also be the council’s first meeting of the new year, during which outgoing city councilors will conclude the fiscal matters of the preceding year and then adjourn. The newly elected mayor and city councilors will be sworn into office and the council will elect a council president.
Dan Johnson will then serve as mayor and be the chief administrative official of the city. He can hire a city supervisor to advise and assist with city operations.
The new council will consist of Hannah Liedkie, Kassee Forsmann and Kathy Schroeder, all of whom will serve four-year terms. Jim Kleeburg, Rick Tousley and Luke Blount will have two-year terms. (Lewiston Tribune)
