Newly elected Lewiston Mayor Dan Johnson plans to finish his term as an Idaho state senator.
The Lewiston Tribune reports the six-term Republican plans to use substitutes at times to fill in for him at the Legislature in Boise while fulfilling his role as mayor.
On Tuesday, Lewiston voters changed the structure of the city’s government, going from a city council-city manager form of government to a strong-mayor structure that the municipality hasn’t had in decades.
Johnson won Tuesday’s election for mayor with 52% of the vote. (Lewiston Tribune)
