Lewiston City Clerk Kari Ravencroft has apologized for using a city-owned copier to produce flyers for KEEP Lewiston, the group campaigning to retain the current council-city manager form of government in the Nov. 2nd election.
In a statement released by the city, Ravencroft, who is a volunteer with KEEP, said she made the copies for distribution at the group’s booth at last month’s Nez Perce County Fair.
Using the city copier to make the flyers is a potential violation of the Idaho Public Integrity in Elections Act, and could lead to a civil penalty of up to $1,500.
KEEP Lewiston Chairman John Pernsteiner plans to file a formal report of the possible violation with the Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office.
The KEEP Lewiston organization repaid the city $65. (Lewiston Tribune)
