Lewiston to consider another mask mandate

The Lewiston City Council will consider re-instituting a mask mandate in efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Public Health – Idaho North Central District Director Carol Moehrle addressed the council via Zoom, and said the mask mandate a year ago was a big factor in mitigating the spread of the virus even before vaccines were readily available.

Facial coverings help stop the spread of droplets that may be transferred from person to person, but health officials maintain the best defense against the coronavirus remains vaccination.

Councilors agreed to put the mandate on their next regular meeting agenda. (Lewiston Tribune)
